Description: Course for aspiring skippers who already have some yachting experience, know the basics of navigation and have sailing ability. During the course you will be asked to skipper the yacht on short passages. The instructor will be on hand to give advice and encouragement and to ensure that your destination is reached safely. The essential element is that you experience being in charge.
Suggested minimum pre-course experience and recommended knowledge: Sailing ability; 5 days, 100 miles, 4 night hours at sea; Basic navigation knowledge. It is recommended that you complete the Day Skipper shorebased course before attending this practical course.
Course contents: Basic pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation.
